This receiver features 4 x HDMI 1.3a inputs, high-definition audio decoding of DTS HD-MA and Dolby TrueHD, and video upscaling to 1080p, using it's built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX chipset.

It features 140 Watts / channel of power in 8 Ohms at 0.05% THD. I visited an audio outlet near my home and tested out close to a dozen of portable sound systems before making this purchase. Many of the more expensive sound systems, such as Bose, sound a little better but this Altec Lansing model does pack quite a punch for its price and size.

The bass was surprisingly strong, and other features such as the iPod dock and the FM tuner works really well. This is a wonderful speaker unit for the price conscious, so long as you keep your expectations realistic.
