The Onkyo TX-SR876 is a an upcoming 7.1 channel A/V receiver with THX Ultra2 Plus certification expected to be released September 9, 2008 for a retail price of $1799.99. This receiver supercedes the 2007's popular Onkyo TX-SR875. This receiver features 4 x HDMI 1.3a inputs, high-definition audio decoding of DTS HD-MA and Dolby TrueHD, and video upscaling to 1080p, using it's built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX chipset.
It features 140 Watts / channel of power in 8 Ohms at 0.05% THD. Notably, the TX-SR876 adds Audyssey's Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume audio processing to achieve fuller sound at lower listening levels while keeping listening levels steady (for loud TV commercials for example).
